Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4 1954. She is a comedian actor, writer, and actress. O'Hara is the proud winner of numerous prizes which include the Genie Award. She was named as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. O'Hara first became known as an actress when she was a member the The Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto in 1974. She was a part of the principal cast on the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) along with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd began work in Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara received critical acclaim for her comedic acting and writing abilities, earning her an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for an episode of a Variety Series in 1982. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the newly formed Second City artistic advisory board which was headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
